It’s time to wake up and come home!

Praise for The Gospel of Astonishment:
The lesson of The Gospel of Astonishment is a hard one, but James Plath strives to inculcate it in his readers with passion and eloquence. He informs and informs us, noticing that Heisenberg "once said that the first gulp from the glass of natural sciences will turn you into an atheist but at the bottom of the glass...God is waiting for you." I lost my wife recently and am deeply in grief. James and his shining book are working hard to help me. I'm a very grateful reader.
- Dr. Johnny Wink, Professor of English, Ouachita Baptist University
Packed with exclamations and exhortations, The Gospel of Astonishment motivates the reader with the author’s infectious enthusiasm. Plath, formerly an existentialist/materialist, has discovered a different viewpoint: he is not an individual consciousness separate from all other things, but rather he (along with all other things) is actually a singular eternal consciousness.
-Scott Buresh, San Francisco Superior Court, Arbitrator
James Plath has written a book that paradoxically challenges the reader to listen to the silence. Its words may speak to our minds and tell a story of hope and everlasting life; but its music speaks to our souls and leads us toward reverence.
This book is a labor of love, a dispelling of the darkness and a hymn to the light.
Read it and rejoice in it.
-Dr. James E. Falen, Professor Emeritus of Russian, University of Tennessee
"The Gospel of Astonishment" is a true gift for anyone and everyone who is ready to let go of suffering - forever! Astonishing, indeed! The truth of our existence here in the dream of separation is clearly, lovingly, joyfully, humorously, and perfectly detailed in James Vincent Plath's new book. I have ordered several extra copies myself and am so grateful to be able to share this incredible book! Our Oneness is calling, and we are hearing!
-Janine Jansma, spiritual author and poet
I highly recommend this book to anyone looking to get a beautifully delivered taste of spirituality delivered to their bodily kitchen. It is one of those "can't put down once I crack the bind" type of reads. Enjoy it, I sure did!!!
-Robert Nasta
This book is like reading the sky! So vast!
The writer has such a spirit of great wonder!
And that is indeed a treasure in this world.

Every once in a while a book explaining ultimate reality is produced so well that it becomes the staple of a generation. There have been saints and philosophers, theologians and scientists who have rocked their particular eras and we read about them in history books. In the same way, James Vincent Plath has done something more than special.
The author has done something very few in history have done. Somehow he managed to explain consciousness with Love. Meister Eckhart comes to mind throughout the reading of The Gospel Of Astonishment. The author of this book could very well be named Meister Plath because they share similar wit, true knowing, pure love and the non-dual perspective and experience of God and the Absolute.
The author completely dismantles materialism and reminds us of it like a mantra throughout the book. Completely unique and refreshing was his use of quantum physics and physicists that aided in his explanation of why materialism is false. His recognition of the pioneers of quantum physics having a great affinity for Hinduism, Buddhism and other Eastern wisdom traditions make an open and shut case for consciousness being ultimate reality.
The author is delightfully witty. He is full of high quality word play as well as having the deepest knowing of the Godhead. The whole book is an incredible feat. Everything is explained perfectly: why we suffer, why there appears to be evil in the world, how to become selfless to experience the eternal moment of Now. A review cannot possible explain the greatness of this book. It will wake you up! Simply put, this masterpiece is as good as it gets.
The author is one with Christ, Buddha, God, the Divine, so much so that he explains how we ARE IT. There is nothing to attain. The author stresses direct experience in meditation as the only means to awaken to this good news that will astonish us! We are all God in disguise.
This holy book can wake you from your slumber. Reading this book will arouse in you the Divine and make you available to true freedom and boundless unending joy!

I don't understand anything,
and that works because there's no me to do the understanding. I didn't read this book, I ate it, first by casually tasting, and then by letting it feed me, and then by taking it out of the cooking pot and sending it back into the eternal woods whence it had come.
I followed it, found it, and winced while it broke me...and then it remade something that had never been. Thank you Plathian One. Best book I've read since Franny and Zooey.
-Seamus Eaton, author of The Ashorne's Ingress
James Plath’s 'The Gospel of Astonishment' is more than a book of philosophical and scientific themes: In true Socratic fashion, Plath uses whimsically written dialogues to reach out toward the reader, grab them through his written word, and pull them through the wading pool of ‘one-ness’. Plath does something magnitudes harder than simply ‘think’… he thinks with style, with elements of story-telling, and with a contextualisation of contemporary scientific discovery.
All of this culminates in “The Astonishingly Crazy Unbelievable Jaw Dropping Gobsmacking Shockingly Spectacular Exquisitely Beautiful Truth About The Nature Of Reality”.
What is this reality?! ‘YOU’ DO NOT EXIST. We are one.
If you’re looking for a book that is as profound as it is fun to read, then I highly recommend Plath’s 'The Gospel of Astonishment'
